EE 321 Fall 2010
Laboratory Instructions
- It is the intent that the laboratory exercise be carried out
during lab hours Monday 14-16:45. If you feel you need additional
time there is one analog lab station in the digital lab.
- Lab books should be handed in by 4 PM on Tuesday for full credit.
- If lab books are handed in late points will be deducted at the
discretion of the course professor or TA.
- Your are encouraged to work in groups of two, but not more
(unless an odd number of students forces a group of three).
- The lowest lab grade will be dropped. You may use this to improve
your grade, or to miss one lab during the semester.
- Pre-labs are optional (i.e. not graded) but are
recommended. Completing the pre-labs may help you complete the labs
in the allotted time.
- Your laboratory grade is based on the work entered in a bound
notebook according to the following procedures.
- It is recommended that you enter pre-lab work in the bound
notebook, either before the lab, or at the beginning of the lab.
- Laboratory work should be entered in the bound notebook as
you carry out the work, not on separate sheets for entry
later.
- Use permanent ink and mark mistakes clearly but do not leave
them unreadable.
- You may include plots generated after the lab together with
discussion of these plots. These can appear at the end or you can
make space for them at the appropriate point in the lab.
- Make sure your notes are neat, complete, correct, and easy to
follow. In particular, include enough information that your work
can be reproduced.
- Discuss problems you encounter during the lab.
