 Prelab for Lab 8: BIPOLAR JUNCTION TRANSISTORS, Part I

Read the lab before answering these questions.

1. Find the gain for the amplifier in figure 3. The gain can be determined from these equations: vout = -ic RC, ic = gm vbe, and gm = IC / VT,with IC = 5 mA.

2. In figure 4 find RB so that IC = 5 mA (assume a beta of 100). What would VO be?

For this same circuit, how would you find beta if you were given RB and VO?
